Thiourea is an important chemical raw material and organic chemical intermediate.

Thiourea is a white and shiny crystal, bitter taste, density 1.41, melting point 176 ~ 178ºC, decomposition when hotter, soluble in water, soluble in ethanol when heated, very slightly soluble in ether. During melting, it partially isomerizes to form ammonium thiocyanide. Used in the manufacture of drugs, dyes, resins, molding powder and other raw materials, also used as rubber vulcanization accelerator, metal mineral flotation agent and so on. It is formed by the interaction of hydrogen sulfide with lime slurry to form calcium hydrosulfide, and then with calcium cyanamide (base). It can also be prepared by melting ammonium thiocyanide, or by acting cyanamide with hydrogen sulfide.

 Industrial manufacturing
1. Rubber and Plastic Industry: As a vulcanization accelerator, it enhances the elasticity and durability of rubber products; Used in the synthesis of materials such as polyurethane and polyester in plastic production.
Metal processing: used as a corrosion inhibitor for acid pickling (such as stainless steel rust removal), reducing metal corrosion and extending equipment life.
Electroplating industry: As a brightener and leveling agent, it improves the uniformity and glossiness of the coating.

2 Agriculture
Pesticide production: used as an intermediate for insecticides (such as acetochlor) and fungicides, with the function of promoting plant growth.
Fertilizer enhancer: improves the nutrient absorption efficiency of crops and enhances stress resistance (such as drought resistance and disease resistance).
Germination regulation: Inhibits potato germination and prolongs storage period.

Dyeing auxiliaries: As a key component of reducing dyes, they enhance color fastness and dyeing uniformity; Used as a bleaching agent and antioxidant in textile processing.
