1. Chemical stability
Sodium formate is stable at room temperature and resistant to high temperatures (decomposition temperature of about 253 ℃), making it suitable for industrial applications in high-temperature environments.

2. Good water solubility
Easy to dissolve in water (about 97 g/100 mL, 20 ℃), convenient for preparing solutions, suitable for water-based systems.

Formic acid production: Sodium formate can be acidified to produce formic acid (HCOONa+H ? SO ? → HCOOH+NaHSO ?).
Catalyst carrier: a catalyst used for synthesizing other chemicals such as oxalic acid.
Printing and dyeing auxiliaries: adjust the pH value of the dye solution to enhance the stability of the dye.

Tanning and neutralization: Adjust the pH value during the leather tanning process to promote the penetration of tanning agents.

Drilling fluid additive: inhibits clay swelling and regulates the rheological properties of drilling fluid.
